The information in this Readme contains fix list and other package information about the Hardware Management Console.
This package represents the Update image that can be used to update your HMC from V7R3.5.0, with or without eFixes, to HMC V7R7.1.0. You can also reference this package by APAR MB03273.
Note: HMC Model 7310-C03 cannot be upgraded to HMC Version 7.7 If an HMC is used to manage any POWER7 processor based server, the HMC must be a model CR3 or later model rack-mount HMC or C05 or later deskside HMC.
When IBM Systems Director is used to manage an HMC or if the HMC manages more than 254 partitions, the HMC should have 3GB of RAM minimum and be CR3 model or later rack-mount or C06 or later deskside.
HMC Version 7.7.1 supports managing a maximum of 48 servers (non Power 590/595 models) or 32 IBM Power 590/595 servers with a maximum of 1024 partitions across the managed servers.

The following fixes are included in this package:
Fixed SSL vulnerability on port 2301 that is used by the 5250 console.
This package provides the following known issues:
Workaround: To work around this problem on the Web UI, specify a short time interval between the beginning time/date and ending time/date for the events, and/or specify a small maximum number of events. To work around this problem on the lslparutil command, use the -h option to specify a small number of hours, and/or use the -n option to specify a small number of events.
Workaround: To work around this problem, turn off the MSP attribute on any VIOS partition that is not needed as an MSP for partition mobility operations. For partition migration operations and partition migration validation operations, another workaround for this problem is to specify which source and destination MSP IP address you wish to use for the operation.
Workaround: To work around this problem, issue the rsthwres -r io command without specifying a partition name or ID, and all recoverable I/O adapters on the managed system will be restored.
Workaround: To work around this problem, issue the chhwres command to remove each HEA logical port to be restored.
Workaround: unplug device, reboot, and replug USB device on HMC after it comes up from reboot.
Workaround: Do not use SHIFT key modifier to select events.
Workaround: manually set default settings.
Workaround: Restart the guided setup wizard, which is accessible from the Welcome screen of the thscroot user.
Workaround: cancel out and go back to view events panel.
Workaround: expand/collapse manually one by one.
Workaround: Go back to HMC Management menus, then to ping tab and ping will then work.
Workaround: Use ALT-TAB to navigate to the desired Window.
Workarounds:(1) Minimize the browser window holding the main HMC WUI, and locate the console window. (2) Run with a non-maximized browser window holding the main WUI, and you will see the console window open up beneath it.
Workaround: Set the language to English or burn the media as data, not image.
Workaround: user has to make sure the dump filenames are not more than 40 characters.
The following browsers have been tested.
Note: For Firefox 2.0 make sure the JavaScript options to raise or lower windows and move or resize existing windows are enabled. To enable these options, go to the Content tab in the browser's Options dialog, click Advanced? next to the Enable JavaScript option, then select Raise or lower windows option (a check mark appears) and Move or resize existing windows options (a check mark appears). These features allow you to switch easily between HMC tasks.
Session cookies need to be enabled in order for ASMI to work when connected to HMC remotely. The asm proxy code saves session information and uses it.
