Active Energy Manager is a plugin that is installed on an IBM Systems Director server that measures, monitors, and manages the energy components built into IBM systems enabling a cross-platform management solution. Active Energy Manager extends the scope of energy management to include non-IBM servers and facility providers to enable a more complete view of energy consumption within the datacenter. See section 5 for a list of items patched or updated. 2.0 Prerequisites and co-requisites None. 3.0 Installation information Starting with Active Energy Manager V4.4.0, Active Energy Manager is part of IBM Systems Director Server install package. A separate installation of the Active Energy Manager plug-in is not required. Once IBM Systems Director Server has been installed, you only need to activate Active Energy Manager to begin using it. This maintenance patch is also part of the overall IBM Systems Director server maintenance patch. The installation of the IBM Systems Director server maintenance patch will automatically install this maintenance patch. Disable AEM support for Power 8 machines, which is related with P8's firmware change. 5.4 Known Issues If P8 is discovered/managed via direct FSP, then there will be two server meps created. One of them is a bad mep, which has no any MTM information.
