They are used in conjuction with a disk creation program to create the DOS bootable update diskettes. You will need two blank diskette. Use the diskettes created from this package to boot the server, then update the firmware of your IBM server or IBM option. The CD ISO image file can be used to create a DOS bootable CD-ROM. Use the CD-ROM to boot the server, then update the firmware of your IBM server or IBM option. 2.1 Step by step instructions for this installation FWUPDOS2.EXE upgrages all of the Broadcom NetXtreme II ethernet adapters installed in the server. To use FWUPDOS2.EXE, execute FWUPDOS2.EXE with one of the following commands. FWUPDOS2.EXE * Update the firmware. FWUPDOS2.EXE -v * Display firmware currently installed. FWUPDOS2.EXE -sol disable * Disable SOL on All NICs. FWUPDOS2.EXE -sol enable * Enable SOL on All NICs. FWUPDOS2.EXE -sol 1 * Enable SOL on NIC 1.
